About Us
Birthday Alarm was started in 2001 by Michael and Xochi Birch and Paul Birch (see below) to provide a simple way for people to remember birthdays. The original idea for the website was simple, remind people of birthdays. We received such positive feedback that we began to add additional features to Birthday Alarm.
As a company we are committed to providing a simple service which is a true benefit to our members. We listen to and respond to members' feedback and most changes have been made as a direct result of this interaction.

 | Xochi Birch was born in Los Angeles and raised in a small town outside of San Francisco, California. She met her husband, Michael Birch, while in London on a study abroad program while in college. They now have two beautiful children and claim they have never forgotten their children's birthday (so far). In 1994, after Xochi and Michael were married, Xochi moved to London and began a career in the computing industry for an Insurance company. After having children and living outside of the United States for 8 years, Xochi and Michael decided to move to California. They have now settled in a small town not very far from her parents. She was very enthusiastic when Michael began talking about a website that reminded people of birthdays and other special events. She believed many people, including her husband, could benefit from such a simple idea. |
| Michael Birch was raised in North London, England, went to college in Central London (where he met Xochi, his wife), then worked in West London. After finally deciding that he had done London, Michael moved to San Francisco in 2002. Having worked in a number of not-so-exciting computer related jobs, he relished the chance to set up an Internet based family business with his wife, Xochi and brother, Paul. Remembering birthdays was never his strong point, much to his embarrassment, so what could be better than something he could use himself. Michael was responsible for developing the original Birthday Alarm website back in 2001, since then it has evolved to its currently un-recognizable self. |  |
 | Paul Birch resides in central London, England. He graduated from University (Imperial College) many years ago - but now believes the University of Life has much more to offer than traditional education. Paul's background is systems analysis. He has loved the Internet since the first day he went online back in 1996. He's been surfing the Internet ever since and has applied many surfing discoveries to BirthdayAlarm. He also enjoy's travelling and helps run Adventura Singles Holidays. Paul has fun everyday, by helping bring a little extra joy to people's lives through the Birthday Alarm service. Formerly himself a 'bad boy' at remembering birthdays - he is of course now excellent! |
