  • Why would I become a member of Birthday Alarm?

    Because Birthday Alarm members get free reminders of their friends' and family's birthdays. You will never forget a birthday again!

  • How do I become a member of Birthday Alarm?

    Click on the 'Become a Member' link at the top of the page, enter your information and your account will be instantly created.

  • When will I be emailed?

    We only use your email address to send you your reminders and occasional information directly related to your use of the Birthday Alarm service.

  • Is Birthday Alarm Free?

    Yes, you can sign up for free and set an unlimited number of birthday reminders. These reminders are, and always will be, free. Some of our greeting cards are also free, though we charge a small fee for a yearly subscription to send our premium greeting cards.

Premium Membership

  • What is Premium Membership?

    Premium Membership allows you to send any of our premium greeting cards.

  • How much does Premium Membership cost?

    Premium Membership Costs $15.00/year.

  • Can I downgrade from Premium to Regular Membership?

    Yes, if you let your Premium Membership expire, your account will remain active and all your reminders will be unaffected. However you will no longer be able to send any of our premium greeting cards.

  • Why do I have to pay to send greeting cards?

    We have over 4000 high quality animated greeting cards. Your fees help keep the quality high and our starving artists just a little less starving.

  • What is your refund policy for premium membership?

    If you are not fully satisfied with your premium membership you may terminate your account during the first sixty (60) days of each of your premium membership terms by using the contact us form. The 60 days is in addition to the 30 days that you are entitled to as part of the free trial offer. You can also phone us on 1 (844) 888-4008 or you can send written notification to our mailing address

    Upon termination, you will receive a full refund of any monies you paid to Birthday Alarm for your premium membership for the then current term. Members who obtained their membership(s) through promotional offerings are not entitled to a refund.

    Free trials can be canceled during the trial period by visiting 'Premium Membership' under 'My Account' -> 'My Profile'.

  • What is Flash?

    Flash is multimedia software that allows cartoon animations, such as the animations in our greeting cards, to be available over the internet. It is a free program that is available for both PCs and Macs, as well as other computer systems such as Linux. Flash is developed and distributed by Adobe, one of the largest and most respected software companies in the world.

  • How much does Flash cost?

    Nothing. It is absolutely free and can be downloaded here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Is Flash Required?

    Flash is no longer required on Birthday Alarm. All our greetings are also Mobile-compatible and available as video files.

Existing Members

  • How do I change my email address?

    You can change your email address by doing the following:

    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'My Account' tab in the blue menu bar.
    3. Click the 'My Profile' in the white submenu.
    4. Click the 'Change Email Addresses' button located in the 'My Email Addresses' section.
    5. Enter your desired email address details and click the SAVE button.

    We recommend entering all your email addresses, this enables you to sign in and operate your account using any address. You can also opt to have reminders sent to more than one address.

  • How do I change my registered name or birthday?
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'My Account' tab in the blue menu bar.
    3. Click the 'My Profile' in the white submenu.
    4. Click the 'Change Personal Details' button located in the 'Personal Details' section.
    5. Change your name (and other options) and click the SAVE button.
  • I have lost my password. What can I do?

    Simply click here enter your email address, and we will send your password to you.

    If you are generally having problems remembering your password then here are two things worth noting:

    1. When you sign in, consider ticking the box called 'Remember Me'. This will save you having to sign-in next time you visit BirthdayAlarm.com on the same computer. Only use this option if you are on a private computer, rather than one shared with other people.
    2. You may wish to change your password to one you find easier to remember. Once signed in you can change your password at any time by clicking on the 'My Account' tab, followed by the 'My Profile' option, then click on the 'Password' tab on the 'My Profile' page.
  • How do I cancel my Birthday Alarm membership?

    You can cancel your membership at any time:

    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'My Account' tab.
    3. Click the 'My Profile' option.
    4. Click the 'cancel your membership' link located at the bottom of the 'Personal Details' box of the 'My Profile' page.
    5. You must then click the YES button to actually cancel your membership.

    If you are unable to sign-in to cancel your membership then please Contact Us and we will be happy to help you.

Greeting Cards

  • How do I send a greeting card?
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'Send a Greeting Card' tab.
    3. Click on a card you like. If you don't like the first card then just click CHOOSE ANOTHER CARD. You can, to see a wider selection of cards, click on the 'More' link for the category of card you are interested in.
    4. When you find a card you like click the PERSONALIZE THIS CARD button.
    5. Then enter the details asked for such as the recipient's name and email address.
    6. To see what your card will look like to your friend click the PREVIEW button. When you are happy with your card click the SEND button to send the card to your friend.
  • How do I view/change/delete a greeting I have sent or scheduled to be sent?
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click on 'My Account' tab.
    3. Click on the 'My Greetings' option.
    4. This will list cards you have already written. If the card is not yet sent, you can amend it by clicking the green pencil icon. Click on the red 'X' icon to cancel/delete a card.

Reminders

  • How do I add birthday reminders to my reminder list?

    To get email reminders from Birthday Alarm of your friends' birthdays:

    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'My reminders' tab.
    3. Click the 'Add Birthday Reminders' option.
    4. You will then see some special wording for you to copy and paste into an email you send to your friends. The wording includes a link which your friends click on when they receive the email from you. This link shows them a page where they can enter their birthday details directly into your account with Birthday Alarm.
  • Can I set birthday reminders without emailing my friends?

    To get birthday reminders for those people whose birthday you already know, please do the following:

    1. Use the Add Birthday Reminders form - click here.

    From here you can add as many people's birthdays as you like, 12 at a time.

  • How do I change an existing birthday reminder?

    You can change or delete a birthday reminder by following these instructions:

    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password top left.
    2. Click on the 'Reminder' tab.
    3. If the 'My Reminders' page is not displayed, click on the 'My Reminders' menu option.
    4. To change a reminder, click on the person's name. To delete a reminder, click on the red 'X' icon.
  • Can I choose how far in advance to be reminded of birthdays?

    Yes. The default is two reminders, the first 7 days before and the second 3 days before. To change this to whatever suits you best:

    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click the 'My Account' tab.
    3. Click the 'My Profile' option.
    4. Click on the 'Reminder Options' tab on the 'My Profile' page.
    5. Click on the EDIT button on the left hand side of 'Reminder / Email Options'.
    6. Change your reminder timing. You can choose to get your reminder(s) anything from on the day to 14 days in advance. Click the SAVE button to save your changes.
  • Why am I not receiving my reminders?

    If you have any junk mail filters set on your email you should include service@noreply.BirthdayAlarm.com as a 'safe' address. Also - as you may know, in very rare circumstances the internet or your ISP can 'lose' an email. There is also a possibility you may have registered the wrong email address with us so Birthday Alarm is sending you reminders to the wrong email address.

  • Can I get reminders for events other than Birthdays?

    Yes, here is how:

    Holidays
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. At the bottom of the 'Reminder' page click the 'Set Holiday Alarms' link on the right hand side above the Holiday Alarms list.
    3. Select either your country or religion and click the related OK button on the right.
    4. Click the square tick box for each holiday you want a reminder of and then click the SAVE button when complete.
    Anniversaries - Friends'
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. On 'Reminder' page, click on the person's name whose anniversary you want to enter.
    3. Enter their anniversary date and click the SAVE button.

    You will have noticed that you must first have a birthday reminder set for the person, before you can enter their anniversary.

    Anniversary - Your Own
    1. If not already - click here to sign in, enter your email address and password.
    2. Click on the 'My Profile' link at the right hand side of the page.
    3. Click on the 'Personal Details' tab.
    4. Click on the EDIT button on the left hand side of 'My Personal Details'.
    5. Enter your anniversary (and other options) and click the SAVE button.
